Muze News Mission
When we created Muze News, we set one goal which was to satisfy the huge gap in music news aggregation that exists. News is made everywhere, written everywhere, reported everywhere and finally distributed through newspapers, blogs, magazines, television and social media. Our question before taking on this goal was, “Where do you go for your music news?” Is there such a single place? Tough question, indeed. Usually, we receive it from the purple section of the U.S.A. Today, radio DJs, emails, fan pages, cable news anchors/commentators, Twitter feeds, TMZ and a few magazines that drop in articles between politics and how (insert reality TV star) lost 25 lbs. “and you can too.” Why is finding music news so difficult?
That happens to be the “huge gap” we intend to fill. The news is out there, it just needs to be tamed and strapped down to a page (even temporarily.) We just provide you a place to lead you to those articles. Our editor Martin Hennessy previously launched a newsletter which became a Web site which then became a podcast series all based on such a gap in music news coverage about recording artists from the 1980s. It is a bigger issue affecting more than one decade’s artists. There is a lot of news and what makes up Muze News will look entirely different every few days. Ferris Bueller said it best, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” So, stop in and look around once in awhile.
