Florence Welch Nails The Maxi Dress For Her New York Performance

Ahead of releasing her fifth studio album Dance Fever later this month, Florence + the Machine played a special concert this past Friday evening at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. Her set list included her classic hit “Dog Days” (which had the entire crowd singing and jumping in unison) and the new song “Girls Against God,” where the singer took a moment to speak out against the Supreme Court’s expected overturning of Roe v. Wade. “This is for you—I am so angry for you, and I love you,” Welch said on stage.

Seeing how Welch wrote the new record during lockdown in 2020, connecting with a live audience is now especially poignant. For her performance in New York, the star gave her crowd what they wanted: a stellar, totally Florence look. Playing off her signature aesthetic, Welch brought easy, ethereal style to Manhattan. She took to the stage in a silky red maxi gown by Del Core, which had puffed sleeves and ruffle detailing. She also wore the design barefoot, in typical Welch-ian style.
